Weekend update
Back: out
Family: in
Baby: baptized

That was our weekend in a nutshell. So, if you are in a hurry, stop reading now and go do what you have to do. For the reader that isn't in a rush, here is the rest of the story.

Friday was going good. I had a good day at work, moved some equipment, fixed a few things, nothing major happened. When I got home, we worked on getting the last few things ready before my parents got here on Saturday and we had everyone over after Libby's baptism on Sunday. I've had back trouble in the past and what better time for it to go out then at 6:45 p.m. on a Friday evening? Needless to say, I wasn't much use Friday night.

Saturday, we got up early and went to the urgent care clinic since my doctor's office isn't open on the weekend. I've pulled a muscle in my lower back, here's some muscle relaxers, take it easy, and don't do too much. After that fun and exciting visit with the doctor, it was back to the house to try to take care of any last minute preparations before my folks showed up. After my parents got here, Tarah made a delicious supper, we made small talk, everyone played with Libby, then I ironed (yes, I iron) while Tarah got Libby to sleep and my parents went to bed.

Did I mention that during all of this, we were doing Libby's therapy exercises? That she HATES them with a passion? That she screams bloody murder when we do them? That it rips our hearts out to hear her cry? No. Ok. Libby hates her therapy exercises. Every time we do them she screams bloody murder. It just rips out our hearts to here her cry like that but we have to do those exercises to strengthen her muscles. Nothing makes me feel like the world's worst dad like making her upset like that.

Sunday morning came VERY early. I don't know why mornings start so early in the day. It'd be nice if they started later, say around lunch time or so. Of course I decided to have Libby's baptism in the early service that starts at 8:30 a.m. That is the service we go to and I thought it would make it easier for anyone that come up from the deep South (it's 500 miles from here to my hometown). Libby was beautiful in her dress (pictures will be up soon) and one of Tarah's uncles and one of her aunts was able to make it. Everyone told us what a beautiful service it was and how wonderful Libby is. After church we had all the family over to the house for soup and sandwiches. A good time was had by all and Libby was at her cutest. After much food was consumed everyone decided it was time to head to their respective homes, and you know what that means... NAP TIME! Nap time was a wonderful thing except that my back was hurting and I couldn't nap.

All in all it turned out to be a pretty good weekend. This week however is trying to kill me. That's why my weekend update is coming out at midnight on Wednesday. I need sleep, and lots of it. And just for future reference, all future baptisms will be at the 11:00 a.m. service.
